The association supports the social promotion of the Rehabilitation Clinic through the voluntary work of its members and financial means.
The “Association of Friends of the Rehabilitation Clinic for Patients with Spinal Cord Injuries, General Hospital of Patras, Demetrios and Vera Sfikas” has undertaken the support of the REHABILITATION CLINIC. Among other things, the association’s work includes presenting the issues faced by the Rehabilitation Clinic to public administration officials for the timely and effective resolution of the clinic’s issues.
Dimitrios and Vera Sfikas (1st photo) Active members at the forefront of the Association are Mr. Dimitrios Sfikas and Mrs. Vera Sfikas, who financed, constructed, equipped, supervised, and donated to the Greek State, the Rehabilitation Clinic with a budget of €3,000,000.
Mrs. Vera Sfikas has been awarded the “Cross of Merit” Medal, which is awarded by the President of the German Federation to citizens for their outstanding contributions to the public.
The association supports the social promotion of the Rehabilitation Clinic primarily through voluntary work by its members and financial means, mainly derived from the contributions of member-volunteers. They utilize modern tools, such as this website, to achieve their goals. Among the members of the association are individuals from various backgrounds, including MEA (People with Disabilities), doctors, nurses, and Clinic staff, among others.
Dimitrios Sfikas (2nd photo, right): He is the donor of the Rehabilitation Clinic and a volunteer, an active member, and the heart of the association.
Ilias Panagiotopoulos (2nd photo, left): An orthopedic physician, a professor at the University of Patras, and the scientific advisor to Mr. Sfikas. For three consecutive years, he worked diligently on the scientific planning and supervision of the project. He is an active member of the association.
